Your Online Business Free Traffic Source

Using Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the best way to drive free traffic to your website which can boost your online business tremendously. How ironic that the best kind of traffic would also be free.

It is always best drive targeted traffic your website because it is linked to people who are looking for what you have to offer. Keywords researched and used in your content is what will make this exchange a ‘marriage made in heaven’. ‘Keywords’ or keyword phrases define what your business or site is all about.

On a regularly basis Search Engine robots crawl websites, normally every 30-days unless there is activity (fresh content). If they encounter a site that has no recent activity, (nothing fresh (new), little or no traffic, etc.) then they move on and come back next time they are in the neighborhood. If they see that the site has fresh content they will re-index the site and that’s what you want.

The index is the Search Engine database of all the websites on the Internet. When your site is re-indexed, your link is promoted to a higher position in their search results. Ideally you need to strive to be as close to Page One as possible (this may be a long-term goal). If you have to work at it constantly, it is worth it. If you want to find success in Internet marketing you must be consistently building your momentum with everything you do to promote your business.

Posting once a month would be the minimum to be seen as being relevant. (much more frequently would have better results). With a plain website coded in HTML it is difficult to make significant changes even once a month to create ‘fresh’. That is why it is such a great idea to build a blog on your website. It is much easier to post an article to a blog than to be changing your code, adding pages, graphics, etc., to create fresh content.

Even if you have your blog on a separate website, you should link it to your main website. Very simple and again, free. You can do this by creating back-links in your content that refer back and forth. For example, on the website, refer to the blog (hyperlink); on the blog refer to the website (hyperlink).

Although this may suffice to a degree, it is a much better idea to have the site built on the WordPress platform so that your simple blog post is seen as a new page on your website. Since they are considered pages, you begin to be indexed not just for your home page but for each post (page) you add. This can be powerful.

Get More Traffic Fast with Guest Posts

Do you need more targeted traffic fast, but haven’t got a big ad budget to leverage?

I’ve got you covered. ?

The method I’m talking about here is guest posts.

Simply put, a guest post is where you arrange to have a unique blog post you create posted on a (preferably) high traffic, authoritative blog in your market.

The blog owner is looking for great content for their readers, and you are in turn looking to get visitors to your site/offer, which is exactly what happens when your great content spurs them to want more, and click the link in your post. It’s a win-win for everyone!

How many visitors can you expect to gain from this method? That’s really a function of how good your guest post is, and how many daily readers the blog you post on has. Focus on creating quality content and strong relationships with authority sites, and this could become the number one source of visitors to your website, and it’s free!

Guest posts can also be a great way to build your email list. An effective strategy is to create a great blog post, and then with your link offer your post readers more (perhaps a free report related to what you wrote about) in order to get them to subscribe to your email list. You’ve now given them two high-quality pieces, and now you’ve also earned the right to email them. More importantly, you’ve built the “know, like and trust” factor through your content that will make these subscribers more responsive to your offers.

So how do you find great places to write guest posts? Simply do a Google blog search using a search string like this:

“guest post” + affiliate marketing

… or whatever your market happens to be. You’ll find a lot of opportunities, and once you’ve sorted through them, you’ll certainly have some great websites to approach.

There you have it… A proven way to get interested visitors to your website, without breaking the bank! I hope this helps you get more traffic for less cost and grow your business faster in the weeks and months ahead.

I’d love to know what you think about this technique, and how it works out for you when you put it into action.

Take Things in Moderation – Even Work at Home

There’s an old saying “Too much of a thing is still too much”! We all need to balance whatever we are doing.  Even with food that is considered fattening or unhealthy, if you eat healthy most of the time you can get away with one time eating something bad.  The same principle if you just limit your portions on both good and bad foods, and get some exercise in your daily routine, nobody will know you have been naughty.

Just by exercising too much you can literally shorten your life or risk your life, the same is true for work.  We do need to work as part of our life routine and at times, like for example when starting a new business where we may work extended hours without a break period taken. We may be working more than normal work hours including our days off. Thus, this may be okay to do this a few times off and on, but on a regular basis you are abusing yourself.

There is absolutely no business that is more important than your health, both mental and physical. To  have and maintain a good health we need to have a balance.  Can you imagine, if you collapse or get sick who is going to do your work then?  Doesn’t it make more sense to take care of yourself so you will be there?  Pace yourself – eat enough, sleep enough, relax enough and work enough – but not too much of anything!

It’s ironic or maybe not that when we work at a job we watch the clock to make sure we don’t work more than the time we are paid for; however people who are really loving what they are doing working at home, will sometimes completely forget to stop working at regular intervals. Most people with their own business it seems work many hours without pay particularly in the start-up.

Balance = we have the freedom to work too much and the other side where we don’t work enough and hence our business will eventually fail through our neglect.  Being sure that you do your work and actually devote enough time to it to make it work, is one of the disciplines we must have if we are going to be self-employed from home.

It may seem silly to you but you may need to make some checklists and outline exactly what you need to do (including taking regular breaks) throughout your day.  You should really take it seriously even if your home business is only at this point part-time, if you ever expect to earn any decent money. Ideally before too long you may be able to quit your day job. This will free up quite a bit of time where you are not commuting and tying up 8-10 hours of your day, which will give you a nice relaxed feeling of freedom and well-being!
